What are you believing God for that you could never accomplish on your own? And if you once believed Him for the impossible… why did you stop?

In John 4:25–35, the woman at the well encounters Jesus—and everything changes. She came looking for ordinary water, but after meeting Christ, she leaves her water jar behind and runs to tell others about the Man who knew her completely.

Jesus offers something far greater than behavior modification or trying harder to become a better Christian. He gives living water—new life that transforms us from the inside out.

In this sermon, we see how the living water Jesus gives produces life-giving worship and mission. The Christian life isn’t ultimately about relying on our own strength, checking religious boxes, or making ourselves better. It is a life of faith: believing that Christ is sufficient, that His Spirit is at work within His people, and that God can accomplish what we never could on our own.

The Samaritan woman’s encounter with Jesus changed what mattered to her. Her past no longer defined her. Her reputation no longer controlled her. She had met the Messiah—and suddenly she wanted everyone else to meet Him too.

“Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” — John 4:29

Jesus knows you completely—and loves you. He lived for you and died for you so that you no longer have to live for yourself.

So what would change if you truly believed that the same God who saved you is still powerfully at work within you?
