What happens when Jesus doesn’t answer the way we expect? Will we still trust His Word?
In John 4:46–54, a desperate father approaches Jesus, pleading for the life of his dying son. But instead of accompanying the man home, Jesus simply declares, “Go; your son lives.”
With no visible miracle, no physical evidence, and no assurance beyond Christ’s Word, the father must make a choice: demand a sign or walk by faith.
What begins as a desperate search for physical healing becomes something far greater—a powerful demonstration of how Jesus uses affliction, His Word, and our deepest needs to strengthen our faith and reveal His glory.
In this sermon, we discover that Jesus doesn’t merely provide solutions to our problems—He gives us Himself. His miracles are signs pointing beyond themselves to the Savior who alone gives eternal life.
Are we seeking Jesus for who He is, or merely for what He can do for us? Do we trust His promises when circumstances remain uncertain? Are we allowing His Word to shape how we live, pray, serve, and love others?
Through this remarkable account, we’re reminded that genuine faith doesn’t require seeing every outcome. It rests confidently in the One whose Word is powerful, sufficient, and always trustworthy.
